Practice Areas Overview

Board Certified Workers' Compensation Specialist

Nationally Certified as a Medicare Set Aside Consultant

From a general practice of law for over 30 years I chose the areas of workers' compensation, Social Security and Medicare law because they allowed me to serve the injured when they most needed the assistance of an attorney. My college background and post-graduate degrees are in psychology with an emphasis on medical sciences. I am a lifelong resident of Connecticut and know its people, as well as, its economy and work place issues. I do not advertise on television or the general media as most of my clients are referred to me by other clients or other attorneys. I am a Board Certified Workers' Compensation Specialists, as well as, nationally credentialed as a Medicare Set-Aside Consultant which provides me the skills necessary to deal with today's complex issues.

The legal concentration and scope of services found at The Law Office of Angelo Paul Sevarino enables my firm to operate with the effectiveness of a larger firm while at the same time providing my clients with the kind of Individual attention they desire and deserve.

This combination of legal expertise, professional qualifications coupled with the highest quality of personal service to my clients has earned me Martindale Hubbell law Directory's coveted "Av" rating - the highest accolade in legal professional ratings.

To set up an appointment, contact our office or call us at 860-640-4719 (toll-free at 888-375-4076). The first half hour is free.

Workers' Compensation Hearings and Appeals

My practice involves representation of injured workers in all eight Connecticut Workers' Compensation Commission Districts.  I regularly appear at informal and Formal hearings.  Appellate work includes appearances before the Compensation Review Board, Appellate and Supreme Court.

Social Security Hearings and Appeals

From initial application consultations, representations at the reconsideration level or appearances before the Administartive Law Judge my office stands ready to effectively represent the client in order to achieve these important benefits.  Appellate work includes filing appeals to the Review Counsel and coordinating further appeals to the Federal Courts when warranted.

Medicare Set-Aside

We work with disabled individuals and their lawyers, negotiating and drafting language in workers' compensation and personal injury settlements to protect a client's rights to receive Medicare benefits. Our goal in every case is to maximize the amount you are entitled to recover while assuring the settlement complies with regulatory mandates. To learn more, go to our page on MSA Request.

Medicare Conditional Payments

If you are currently a Medicare beneficiary or have been a Medicare beneficiary in the past investigation and reconciliation of any Medicare conditional payments must be made. We provide both investigation and reconciliation services. For more information go to the MSPRC Request.

Social Security Offset

If you are receiving  periodic or lump sum workers' compensation and Social Security benefits for a work related  injury we can make certain that the language of the settlement does not negatively affect your rights to receive benefits under Social Security. We have extensive experience in representing clients who are entitled to concurrent workers' compensation and social security benefits. We will review proposed settlement agreements for other lawyers and draft the appropriate language to apportion benefits. See our Social Security offset page for more information.

Expert Testimony and Legal Opinion Letters

Because of our extensive experience, we often prepare opinion letters regarding Medicare Set-Aside or Social Security offset issues for other attorneys. As a result, we are often called on to serve as expert witnesses in civil trials or workers' compensation board hearings. For additional information, visit our page on expert testimony and legal opinion letters.

MSA FastDraft Pro

We have also developed a Saas based software program, entitled MSA Fast Draft Pro, for use by legal professionals in prepartion of settlements involving workers' compensation or personal injury settlemetns when Social Security and/or Medicare/Medicaid is involved. See our MSA Fast Draft Pro page to learn more.
